The challenge

Shipping emits more CO2 than many countries, and new rules will phase out non-compliant ships. Grafmarine needed to explain a technical product (modular solar tiles with batteries) to ship operators in simple terms.

The project

A 2D animated explainer for Grafmarine, a UK renewable energy company for the maritime industry.

What we made

The video introduces the Grafmarine NanoDeck, a modular energy deck of solar tiles with batteries that can be fitted to new ships or retrofitted, used for hotel power or at docks, and moved from ship to ship, to help operators reduce emissions and fuel costs without disruption.

Our approach
  1. 01

    Problem, rules, solution

The video opens with the scale of shipping emissions and the coming regulations, then introduces NanoDeck as the answer.

  2. 02

    Showing how the tiles work

Animation shows how each tile stores power, links into clusters across the ship, and can be swapped, moved or retrofitted.
